Two approaches to PDF processing
Some services upload documents to a remote server, process them there, then return an output file. Others work locally in the browser. The distinction matters when handling personal or confidential information.
What local processing means
In PixPDFKit's current tools, JavaScript reads the document locally and creates the result on your device. Certain libraries and fonts load from third-party CDNs, but our application code does not include document contents in these network requests.
Common-sense precautions
Use trusted devices and updated browsers. Inspect output, avoid unknown files, and remember that downloads can remain in a shared computer's Downloads folder.
Highly sensitive documents
Follow your workplace or institution's document-handling policy first. Local processing reduces the need for uploading files, but it does not replace device security, access controls or reliable backups.
